Have you ever walked around a yacht harbor where the light was so brilliant you couldn’t keep your eyes open because of the glare? The white gleaming sailboats, the reflections on the water, the sky, all pressed into one glorious light. This is the way I viewed this painting. This particular sailboat stood out against all of the others in this brilliant light with its bold red stripe and red sail cover.
